How and Why

Do you know why you are doing what you do? Or why you want what you want? Being clear on our reasons for what we want out of life helps the Universe with the manifestation process, because it helps us get into alignment with what we want. How, on the other hand, is a different story.

As Mike Dooley says, don’t mess with the cursed hows. Wondering how something is going to come about can cause paralysis. It often makes the goal too daunting. For example, suppose you want to write a book. If you start by thinking about how it is going to get published, you’re basically sunk before you even got started. Wondering how often leads to spinning which is never good. How will my book get published? How do I find a publisher? Who is going to want to publish my book—nobody knows who I am. This is never going to work. How am I even going to write the whole thing? I don’t have that much to say. I don’t even know if I am a good writer. Forget it.

When we start down the road of how it squashes our dreams. It causes us not to dream big, simply because we can’t figure out from the get go how everything is going to come into place. When we stop having big dreams, we can fall into simply existing in our lives instead of living them.

Don’t take on the extra work—leave the hows up to the Universe. Don’t wonder how you are going to get that new client. Instead get into the vibration of how it feels to have that new client, and then take whatever action steps you can come up with that might assist you in getting there. Attend social functions where perhaps you’ll meet someone who needs your special services. Maybe do some advertising. Or make sure all your friends keep you in mind in case they know someone who needs your expertise or help. Take whatever steps you can, even small steps, and hold the end result in your mind as if it has already happened. See your calendar full with clients. Figure out a way to organize your days to accommodate all of these people! And then let it go. Know it will happen, and let it go.

Can you see the powerful difference between asking why and how? Why clarifies the reasons we want something, and if they are good reasons it increases that vibration. How can lead to fear or despair—not good for the vibrational bank account. Look back on your life and see how you got to where you are today. Most likely you will see twists and turns that you wouldn’t have expected that got you there. How you got the dream job you have now might blow your mind because it is the last thing you thought would lead to it. Even when our lives take turns for the worse, it leads us in a new direction and when we travel that road it often takes us to an outcome we want.

So, don’t let go of your big dreams—just let go of the hows. Take whatever steps you can—one small step will lead to another, and another. Before you know it you will be sitting in your new beautiful home with a gorgeous view thinking, I can’t believe how I got this house!
